The Australian Government recently announced the opening date for the Australian General Practice Training (AGPT) Program.

The program provides 1,500 Australian-government funded places for medical registrars wishing to train as general practitioners as part of the program.

The program is available for those with a desire to be either rural or general practitioners, and allows participants to achieve fellowship with the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM), the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) or both.

Applications for the 2021 program open at 10am (AEST) Monday the 23rd of March 2020. Applications close at 10am (AEST) on Monday 27 April 2020.
